About Sarah | Good Energy Coach

Hi, I'm Sarah.

Personal Trainer. Holistic Fitness Coach. The woman who jokingly calls menopause her newest sport.

How I Got Here

I came to fitness later in life. I wasn't a kid who grew up in sports. That's why my approach is grounded and real.

I studied at Cambrian College for my Diploma in Physical Fitness, then at the CHEK Institute in California. I got curious about what my body could do. I competed in triathlon, cross country running, and bodybuilding.

I opened Good Energy, a women's strength training studio in downtown Collingwood. For over 20 years I've coached women through the stuff that hits after 40: bad knees, sleepless nights, busy weeks, big goals, and real life.

Then menopause came for me. Sweats, clothes feeling too tight, tired, anxious, short-fused. The exact stuff my clients had been telling me about for years. It gave me a perspective I didn't have before.

My philosophy boils down to this: the desire to get fit is really the desire to become more fully yourself. Strength training, smart nutrition, and a sense of humour can get you there.

Now it's your turn.

What I Believe

Four ideas that show up in every program I build.

1

Strength Training Is the Foundation

Every program I build starts here. Bone density, hormone balance, metabolism, confidence. Strength holds it all up.

2

Nutrition Stays Simple

Clean, whole foods. Plenty of protein. No extreme rules. When you put good things into your body, you get good things out.

3

Your Body Is Changing

That's normal. The plan has to change with it. Different season, different approach.

4

Fitness Is About Becoming More Yourself

The desire to get fit is really the desire to become more fully yourself. Strength training, smart nutrition, and a sense of humour can get you there.

Working with Sarah felt like finally putting my own oxygen mask on first.
